Gordelier can be heard drumming on most of the Saturns Pattern tracks and this album (and recent live performances) have also seen an increase in backing vocals from the band taking centre stage (think Andy Lewis on Long Time). The 2010 'Find the Torch, Burn the Plans' DVD from the Royal Albert Hall is another good starting point, also featuring Andy Crofts on guitar, with a special guest appearance, no not from the Queen Mother (!) but the Stereophonics' Kelly Jones. Here Powell’s customer base expanded to include Bradley Wiggins, who revealed during his 2015 appearance on the BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that he discussed acceptance of the knighthood awarded to him by The Queen with Paul Weller while they were both fitted for suits by Powell at the address. Currently, if you are lucky enough to go and see Paul Weller live, you will be hearing one of his best solo touring bands ever. ![]()
